ASGSF Reduction in funding – An Open Letter from TLSWi
We understand that the recent changes to ASGSF (Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund) will have a significant impact on children and has raised concerns about how to continue to offer quality TLSW support.
Richard Rose and the TLSWuk committee have been in discussion and explored options about how to proceed. The attached open letter from Richard Rose includes the possible options for practitioners.
The More About Me Approach is one of the main options. Practitioners are urged to think about other funding avenues as well, and where possible to suggest that work is commissioned in partnership with commissioners sharing costs.
TLSWuk are also working on quick “Guides to…” for TLSW and More About Me, which can be used by practitioners with children, families and commissioners of work.
We will continue to support members as much as we can with advice and guidance, and expect this to be an on-going reflection at our regional study and support hub meetings, and national community drop-ins, as well as within the TLSWuk committee and TLSWi community.
